Job Overview

We are looking for a full-time Special Education Teacher who is eager to make a positive impact on the lives of students with diverse needs. As an Intervention Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with students, providing them with personalized instruction and support in areas such as reading, writing, math, and other subjects as needed. You will be part of a collaborative team of professionals who are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide small group and one-on-one instruction to students requiring support in various subjects
  • Communicate ongoing student progress to parents, general education teachers, school administration, and other service professionals
  • Maintain compliance with IDEA, state, and district-level guidance and procedures
  • Implement and communicate accommodations and modifications within the general education curriculum
  • Differentiate instruction based on student needs and present levels
  • Create and implement behavior support plans or individual transition plans as necessary
  • Assist with proctoring state exams and participate in professional development, parent conferences, and administrative meetings
  • Provide online instruction and consultation as needed

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a valid Intervention Specialist Certificate and be able to clear IChat. You must also hold appropriate automobile insurance with limits that allow driving a personal vehicle for work. Preferred qualifications include 2 years of experience in Special Education, a ZA/Z endorsement, experience with the Get Set for School curriculum, and knowledge of MARSE (MI Administrative Rules for Special Education and IDEA).

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive total compensation package, including a salary range of $28.93 - $42.82 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a range of benefits, including merit-based annual raises, health, dental, and vision insurance, and a $25,000 life and AD&D insurance policy. Our employees also receive generous paid time off, including up to two weeks of paid vacation, up to 13 paid holidays, and up to five paid sick days.
