About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Beachwood, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students and gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer competitive pay rates, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments, as well as comprehensive support to help you excel in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach students in a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and more
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and achievement
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references, with one from a previous direct supervisor
• A NJ Substitute Credential
• A background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this!)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
• Special education experience or training
• Bilingual or multilingual skills
• Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
