Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Vocal Music Teacher to join our team of educators in Baltimore County Public Schools. As a Vocal Music Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and providing instruction in vocal music to students in grades K-12. You will work closely with other teachers, administrators, and community members to develop and implement music programs that align with our district's goals and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement instructional programs in vocal music that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students
• Develop and deliver lesson plans that align with state and national music education standards
• Create a safe and orderly learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and administrators
• Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and community members to develop and implement music programs
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including grades, attendance, and disciplinary records
• Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field
• Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Certificate in Music Education
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of pedagogy, curriculum, and effective instructional techniques
• Skill in instructing students, preparing and implementing lesson plans, and communicating with students, parents, and administrators
• Technology competency, including database, internet, spreadsheet, word processing, and related applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Music Education or a related field
• Experience working with students in grades K-12
• Knowledge of music theory, history, and criticism
• Experience with music technology and digital tools
