We're now looking for a talented Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Data Stage Notebooks and APIs team and contribute to the development of our data analysis tools.

About the Role

As a Full Stack Software Engineer on our Data Stage Notebooks and APIs team, you'll play a critical role in enabling the productivity of our data science and engineering community at Netflix. Your primary focus will be on developing and advancing our data analysis tools, including a customized version of Jupyter Notebooks and Python APIs that allow internal clients to automatically access our data stage. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and TPMs, to drive initiatives and solve complex business problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data analysis tools, including Jupyter Notebooks and Python APIs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
  • Work with engineers, product managers, and TPMs to drive initiatives and solve complex business problems
  • Develop and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant, and distributed systems
  • Integrate with GraphQL and other technologies to enable seamless data access
  • Contribute to the development of front-end applications using React, Vue, or other technologies
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code standards

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience building APIs/SDKs and large-scale distributed systems
  • Expertise in Python, with extensive experience in Python package management tooling
  • Experience with GraphQL integration and development
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including scalability, reliability, and maintainability
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in data science (e.g., Jupyter Notebooks, pandas, numpy) or AI (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
  • Familiarity with large data technologies and orchestration tools (e.g., Flash, Voila/Trino, Druid, Snowflake)
  • Experience with visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies, including React, Vue, or Angular
