Position Overview
As a Virtual Special Education Teacher with VocoVision, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and support services to students with disabilities. This position offers the flexibility of working from home, allowing you to create a comfortable and productive work environment that suits your needs. You will collaborate with schools and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Virtual Assessments and Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and develop targeted support strategies.
- IEP Development and Implementation: Collaborate with schools and other professionals to develop and implement IEPs that address the unique needs and goals of each student.
- Direct Instruction and Support: Provide direct instruction and support to students via teletherapy platforms, utilizing evidence-based practices and strategies to promote academic achievement and social growth.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students, fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
- Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, including assessment results, IEPs, and progress reports.
Essential Qualifications
- Oregon Special Education Teaching License: Valid Oregon Special Education teaching license, with a strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Experience Working with Diverse Learners: Experience working with students with diverse needs, including those with autism, ADHD, and other disabilities.
- Strong Communication and Technology Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, and other professionals via teletherapy platforms.
- Remote Work Experience: Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with the ability to manage a flexible schedule and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Teletherapy Platforms: Experience working with teletherapy platforms, including online learning management systems and virtual classroom tools.
- Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practices: Familiarity with evidence-based practices and strategies in special education, including differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Experience with IEP Development: Experience developing and implementing IEPs, with a strong understanding of IEP goals and objectives.
