Key Responsibilities
- Identify, research, process, resolve, and respond to customer inquiries via telephone, written correspondence, and other channels, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Handle a high volume of health insurance-related customer calls and correspondence on a daily basis, demonstrating expertise and empathy in resolving complex issues.
- Meet quality, quantity, and timeliness standards to achieve individual and department performance goals, as defined within department guidelines.
- Collaborate with various internal departments, external plans, providers, businesses, and government agencies to obtain information and ensure resolution of customer inquiries.
- Document and record facts related to inquiries and correspondence by updating blithequark files and systems, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate and maintain current working knowledge of required blithequark systems, procedures, forms, and manuals, staying up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
Essential Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- At least one (1) year of experience in claims examination, health insurance, customer service, call center, medical office, or other healthcare-related field, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
- A High School diploma or GED, with intermediate PC proficiency and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy, practice active listening, and compose effective business correspondence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and translate policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to establish and maintain working relationships in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Experience working in a healthcare insurance environment, with knowledge of health insurance products and services.
- Familiarity with customer service software and technology, including CRM systems and other relevant tools.
- Previous experience working in a remote or flexible work environment, with the ability to stay motivated and productive in a self-directed setting.
