About the position Responsibilities • Evaluate the potential impact of TVA projects on historically significant sites and structures. • Implement agency responsibilities under historic preservation laws and regulations. • Identify, evaluate, and assess effects on the historic built environment in compliance with Section 106 and Section 110 of the NHPA. • Assist cultural resources staff with archaeological site components. • Prepare and review documents for Section 106 and Section 110 compliance. • Consult with State Historic Preservation Officers and the National Park Service for compliance support. • Develop and implement preservation measures or mitigation plans under Section 106. • Prepare state historic building inventory forms and HABS/HAER/HALS documentation. Requirements • A Master's degree in History, Architectural History, Architecture, or a closely related field is required. • Must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for history and/or architectural history. • Two or more years of professional experience in NHPA and NEPA technical input. • Experience in conducting architectural surveys and evaluations. • Experience in historical and archival research and analyzing historical data. • Ability to synthesize data into written documents such as building inventories and evaluations. Nice-to-haves • Knowledge of related Federal and State Regulations. • Strong negotiation skills. • Project management experience.
