Job Description and Responsibilities
The Data Engineering team at blithequark is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to manage the development and sustainment of products for the Media business. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for a range of data engineering activities, including maintaining and improving data acquisition processes, data validation processes, ETL/ELT data pipelines, and overall process alerting strategies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Gathering data requirements and creating source-to-target mappings
- Designing and implementing data validation scripting and review
- Developing and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines
- Designing and executing database schema/tables/views
- Delivering datasets as input to science models and representations
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business value and innovation
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance
- Proven expertise and proficiency in using Python and SQL (preferably with Snowflake)
- Experience with developing in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOP practices for code management/development
- Experience with creating and maintaining automated job schedulers
- Solid understanding of relational database design and functionality
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
To stand out as a candidate, you will have:
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
- Proficiency in cloud architecture and product offerings, preferably AWS
- Experience managing and deploying code using a source control product like GitLab/GitHub
