Job Description and Responsibilities

The Data Engineering team at blithequark is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to manage the development and sustainment of products for the Media business. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for a range of data engineering activities, including maintaining and improving data acquisition processes, data validation processes, ETL/ELT data pipelines, and overall process alerting strategies.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Gathering data requirements and creating source-to-target mappings
• Designing and implementing data validation scripting and review
• Developing and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines
• Designing and executing database schema/tables/views
• Delivering datasets as input to science models and representations
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business value and innovation

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance
• Proven expertise and proficiency in using Python and SQL (preferably with Snowflake)
• Experience with developing in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOP practices for code management/development
• Experience with creating and maintaining automated job schedulers
• Solid understanding of relational database design and functionality
