Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines to support retail data science capabilities
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and other stakeholders to tackle complex challenges and drive business growth
- Develop and implement data transformation and integration processes to refine raw data into usable assets
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify data sources, develop data models, and implement data governance practices
- Write high-quality code in languages such as Scala, Python, or Java, and contribute to code documentation and testing
- Participate in agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and make recommendations for adoption
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on large-scale data pipelines and retail data science
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Scala, Python, or Java
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases
- Knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and data quality principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS
- Knowledge of data integration tools such as Automic, Windstream, or Informatica
