Job Overview
As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, handling a wide range of inquiries, requests, and issues. Your goal will be to provide timely, accurate, and professional support, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible experience. Key Responsibilities
- Handle high-volume phone traffic, responding to customer inquiries, and resolving issues in a friendly and professional manner
- Perform routine office duties, including providing phone, electronic, and face-to-face support to customers, directing internal and external customers, processing payments, and handling mail
- Assist with interdepartmental cash and reporting functions, ensuring compliance with blithequark's internal cash handling policies
- Receive, maintain, and account for monies, providing payment receipts and ensuring accurate records are kept
- Process commercial account set-ups, validate Tax IDs, and assist with projects and back-office assignments as needed
- Collaborate with peers to resolve customer issues, answer questions, and provide support
Solid Waste Responsibilities
- Process internal and external customer requests, including weigh-in and weigh-out customers on Weigh Station scales, identifying and screening waste materials, and educating customers on waste disposal rules and regulations
- Receive, maintain, and account for monies for Solid Waste Landfill customers, accepting card payments, authorizing billing, and issuing receipts
- Enter accurate data into the Weigh Station software, producing and verifying reports as needed
- Assist with new application testing, computer information system modifications, and upgrades as required
- Support the Home Chemical Collection (HCC) Division, greeting customers, screening materials, educating customers on accepted materials, sorting and processing non-hazardous materials, restocking, and cleaning as needed
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that align with the requirements of the position. These include:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of customer service experience and six months of cash handling experience
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and blithequark policies and procedures
- Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office 365 and other software systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships, work independently, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a similar industry or setting
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365, with experience in data entry, record-keeping, and report generation
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures, with experience in processing payments and maintaining accurate records
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
