About the Role
As a Healthcare Customer Advisor for Special Needs at blithequark, you'll be part of our highly skilled team dedicated to serving members with special needs and their families. You'll be the primary point of contact, providing compassionate support and resolving issues related to benefits, claims, billing, prior authorizations, and appeals. Your work will have a direct impact on the lives of millions, making a meaningful difference in their healthcare journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide holistic family support to members with special needs, owning end-to-end resolution of issues and delivering a memorable, positive experience.
- Serve as an ongoing point of contact for members, primarily via phone, email, chat, and text, creating strong relationships and trust.
- Make independent decisions and solve problems creatively, using sound judgment and critical thinking to resolve complex issues.
- Plan, prioritize, and organize work to meet established objectives, managing project time to ensure timely follow-up and outreach.
- Maintain accurate family counts on our documentation platform and provide high-quality member experiences reflected in post-contact surveys and feedback.
- Foster a strong team environment through activities like mentoring and acting as a resource for colleagues.
- Anticipate member needs and proactively seek out internal and external resources to add value and support.
- Determine appropriate referrals to other programs and services, leveraging technology guidance when necessary.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
- At least 1 year of experience helping, resolving, or advocating on behalf of members or customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- The ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9:45am to 6:15pm CST, with occasional overtime as needed.
- A dedicated work area with a high-speed internet connection, adhering to blithequark's Telecommuter Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications can give you a competitive edge:
- Experience with A4Me or Quick Assist.
- Claims processing experience.
- Experience providing care for children with special needs or working in a member-focused healthcare environment.
- A background in service delivery, such as social services, caregiving, hospitality, or social work.
