Position Overview
This role is designed for a highly skilled and experienced Service Engineer who can provide top-tier technical support for databases and both on-premise and cloud platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and testing operating systems-level software compilers and network distribution software, planning, architecting, deploying, or supporting complex client/server or base software systems, and setting operational specifications. The ability to formulate and analyze software requirements, establish standards for design, architecture, and recovery processes, and lead the development of high-quality specifications for solutions is essential. Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead design reviews to ensure application designs adhere to architecture standards, overall roadmap, and meet customer requirements.
- Problem Management: Correlate and analyze problems using standard and custom problem management tools and processes.
- Solution Architecture: Plan, architect, deploy, or support complex client/server or base software systems, focusing on scalability and comprehensive recovery plans.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with multiple groups and services to establish and implement standards for design, architecture, and recovery processes.
- Innovation and Development: Research and test operating systems-level software compilers, and network distribution software to contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: At least six years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in providing technical support for databases and on-premise and cloud platforms.
- Technical Skills:
- At least 36 months of experience with SQL Server; SQL and/or T-SQL.
- At least 24 months of experience with Azure; Azure Services; Azure cloud database services using SQL, PostgresSQL, and MySQL; CosmosDB; Cloud development.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field can be an advantage.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in cloud computing, database management, or software development can enhance your application.
