Key Responsibilities
As an Online Chat Text Supervisor at blithequark, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective operation of our 988 Crisis Chat Program. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing individual supervision to Crisis Chat Counselors, including monitoring and feedback on their performance
- Conducting risk assessments, safety planning, and de-escalation interventions with chat visitors
- Building positive rapport with chat visitors and providing crisis intervention and emotional support
- Coordinating with emergency responders when active rescue is required
- Familiarizing yourself with community resources and providing information and referrals to chat visitors
- Responding to crisis chat/text visitors as needed to support Counselors on shift
- Ensuring thorough documentation is completed for all crisis chats/texts
- Monitoring chat and text quality, with a focus on achieving a minimum 75% quality evaluation score
- Conducting weekly individual supervision sessions with Counselors and completing weekly quality assurance reports
- Providing training to new Crisis Chat Counselors and participating in ongoing training and professional development
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as counseling, social work, or psychology
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health services, preferably in crisis intervention or suicide prevention
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to function successfully in an environment requiring immediate response to urgent situations
- Knowledge of and familiarity with local and statewide community resources
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft products and various software applications
Preferred Qualifications
