About the Data Center Infrastructure Quality Team
The Data Center Infrastructure Quality team is responsible for the qualification and quality execution of suppliers from delivery to operations. This team collaborates closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Data Center Site Operations teams to deliver infrastructure capacity that enables Google Cloud customer demand and internal compute power. As a Technical Program Manager within this team, you will serve as the quality leader for assigned suppliers, facilitating a strong quality relationship between Workwarp and its suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with supplier partners to manage critical aspects of infrastructure data center equipment supplier quality, collaborating with designers, commodity managers, manufacturing engineers, and driving supplier failure analysis.
- Provide analytical leadership to statistically connect production line metrics, tests, and quality audits to field performance, ensuring data-driven decisions that enhance quality and efficiency.
- Manage the validation of suppliers' build/test processes, ensuring they meet Workwarp's requirements and leverage industry quality standards to validate supplier product lifecycle deliverables.
- Conduct supplier audits, inspect production facilities/lines, and articulate quality improvement activities aimed at reducing variability, improving predictability, streamlining lead time, and enhancing output quality.
- Partner with suppliers to solve complex product quality and process issues across the full product lifecycle, fostering collaborative relationships that drive mutual growth and excellence.
- Own and advance our inventory quality management program, implementing preventative strategies to establish root causes and systemic corrective actions that ensure the highest standards of quality.
Essential Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in engineering principles and practices.
- 4 years of experience analyzing data and creating reports with statistical, quantitative modeling, and forecasting, showcasing your ability to drive insights from data.
- 4 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, supply chain, operations, or test validation for mechanical, fabrication, generator, or HVAC infrastructure equipment, providing a deep understanding of the complexities of infrastructure equipment.
- 2 years of experience in program management, highlighting your capability to lead programs, manage stakeholders, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will be advantageous:
- Six Sigma Blackbelt, American Society for Quality certification (CQE, CQM, CRE, or CQA), or equivalent certification, demonstrating expertise in quality management and process improvement.
- 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects, showcasing your ability to collaborate across boundaries and drive team success.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure equipment design, manufacturing, and deployment at Data Centers or other Mission Critical Operations, providing insight into the specific challenges and opportunities of our industry.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure Standards applied to Mission Critical Operations (ANSI, ASME, APQP, NFPA/NEC, UL, etc.), ensuring compliance and adherence to industry benchmarks.
- Knowledge in Design of Experiments, statistical analysis, and process control, and familiarity with application of statistical analysis tools such as JMP/SAS/Minitab/ANOVA, enabling data-driven decision-making and quality enhancement.
- Ability to travel 50% or as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to meeting the needs of our global operations.
