Job Description - Area Director of Revenue Management
The Area Director of Revenue Management will play a crucial role in developing and overseeing strategic tactical plans to optimize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR for 10-15 properties. This position requires a strong and diverse skill set in revenue management, including expertise in management of systems and distribution channels, hotel pricing and restrictions, inventory management, and competitor analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing historical data, market trends, and revenue strategies to inform decision-making and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement revenue management strategies based on complete analysis of the competitive set, distribution channels, historical data, and marketing
- Execute and analyze reports regarding historical numbers, market trends, and revenue strategies
- Implement strong future strategies to make relevant decisions and maximize overall revenue for multiple properties
- Establish group strategy in regard to effective group pricing, pattern, and base with sales departments
- Direct weekly revenue meetings with efficient preparation, analysis of past performance, and future strategy discussions with executive members of properties
- Improve property performance by strategizing with other team members about overcoming market and property challenges, and marketing initiatives
- Manage all distribution and reservation channels, including GDS, e-commerce, websites, and call centers, to ensure proper positioning and selling strategy
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, the Area Director of Revenue Management must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- 2+ years of revenue management expertise required, with a focus on hotel revenue management
- IHG Revenue Management expertise required
- Ability to work independently and as a team leader, with strong communication skills and the ability to run effective Revenue Strategy calls
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to solve problems quickly and make data-driven decisions
- Highly proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook, with experience using property PMS, reservation, and hotel revenue management systems
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field

- Experience working with multiple properties and portfolios
- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in revenue management
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and sales strategies
