As a Child and Youth Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in planning, coordinating, and conducting activities that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of program participants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of program participants
- Establish a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions with other children, youth, and adults
- Prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules and provide program options for children with special requirements
- Maintain program participation data and complete daily reports
- Serve as a role model and provide guidance and support to children and youth
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the program
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old at the time of appointment
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children and youth
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices
- Certifications in CPR, first aid, and medication administration
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with children, youth, and adults
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
