About the position Responsibilities • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. • Support Charter's customer self-service APIs and requisite infrastructures, and Content Management systems that power user experiences. • Contribute to a culture of data-driven operations by ensuring that all APIs are deeply instrumented and monitored. • Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency and availability of all systems and applications. • Work with other Charter teams from Product, to infrastructure and application development. • Recommend and monitor continual improvements within the data platform and services that allow Charter to decrease time to market for new customer experiences. • Assist in managing the adoption of systems/tools/processes where appropriate. • Support leadership in the continuing transformation of Charter into a data and analytics driven organization. • Directly supervise and support a high-performing team by recruiting, training, and developing individual contributors. • Identify, mitigate, and communicate project risks to key stakeholders. • Review and analyze data platform and services to ensure compliance with industry and government regulations, protecting our data assets with the highest levels of security. Requirements • 5+ years of Telecommunications, Product and/or equivalent experience • 2+ years of Software engineering team management • 2+ years of Distributed computing software development • Experience developing distributed software operating in JVM and on Linux • Experience leading people and projects to a successful, high impact outcome • BA or BS College Degree or related work experience • Demonstrated understanding of reactive platforms like Akka, Node.JS, Play, etc. • Exposure to GraphQL based APIs • Demonstrated understanding of public cloud infrastructure services capabilities such as AWS • Demonstrated understanding of modern microservices architectures employed at web scale • Demonstrated effective communications skills including presentation skills • Demonstrated understanding of DevOps principles and practices • Ability to operate customer facing production services at web scale, 24/7/365 • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively • Ability to analyze and resolve issues, both logical and interpersonal Nice-to-haves • 2+ years of Management or leadership experience • 3+ years AWS cloud infrastructure management • Experience operating with critical production environments and communicating with various stakeholders Benefits • Innovative Tools & Tech: Work with high-performing software and applications on the forefront of the digital telecommunications industry. • Dynamic Growth: The growth of our industry and evolving technology will power your career as you move up or around the company. • Supportive Teams: Who you are matters here.
