We are now seeking a dedicated and compassionate Center-Based Behavior Technician to join our team in Fairview, OR, to contribute to the development and well-being of our clients. About the Role The Center-Based Behavior Technician position is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with autism. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering ABA Therapy in a 1:1 setting, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Your work will focus on increasing critical developmental skills such as language and communication, social skills, and school readiness behaviors, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for our clients. Key Responsibilities • Provide direct client care in both 1:1 and group settings, utilizing intensive teaching and natural environment training methods. • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in each client’s individualized treatment plan, developed by a BCBA/BC. • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior, ensuring accurate and detailed documentation. • Assist with parent and caregiver training, aligning with the client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols, to foster a supportive environment at home. • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established procedures, maintaining confidentiality and adherence to regulatory standards. • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding client progress, as instructed by the BCBA/BC, promoting transparency and collaboration. • Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients, and promptly report all critical incidents and safety concerns to ensure a secure environment for everyone. • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment, contributing to a healthy and productive setting for therapy sessions. • Assist the BCBA/BC in the preparation of client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition plans, demonstrating a proactive approach to client care. Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge To be considered for the Center-Based Behavior Technician role, you must meet the following requirements: • Hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for the RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment. • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. • Reliable transportation, and in some cases, proof of a valid driver’s license and car insurance. • Be at least 18 years of age. • Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, along with a TB test if not done in the past year. • Physical ability to perform the job, including frequent standing, lifting up to 50lbs, and the capacity to run/move quickly as required for client interaction and safety. • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and patience, with a strong ability to maintain emotional control in challenging situations. • Positive attitude and a drive to help children acquire new skills. • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks precisely and follow detailed instructions. • Proficiency in technology to record data on mobile devices and navigate digital applications. • Good written and verbal communication skills, along with strong cultural competency and flexibility. Preferred Qualifications While not required, experience in the following areas is highly valued: • Working as a Behavioral Technician. • Experience with children with autism or other learning disabilities. • Roles such as Teacher’s Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide.
