<p><strong>Title: Structural Engineer (Civil/Structural)</strong></p><p><strong>Location: Chester, VA </strong></p><p><strong>Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire </strong></p><p><strong>Salary: $85,000 – $160,000 (Commensurate with experience)</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>We’re seeking a Structural Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team supporting complex industrial and heavy industry projects. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving tough structural challenges, working on large-scale projects, and collaborating across disciplines. Senior engineers will also have the opportunity to lead projects and mentor junior team members.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><ul><li>Design steel structures and concrete foundations for heavy industry projects using IBC and reference codes</li><li>Work independently on structural projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Process)</li><li>Provide solutions for complex or unusual structural issues</li><li>Interact directly with clients and contribute to project planning and progress</li><li>Conduct field work and site visits to observe construction</li><li>Review and check drawings prepared by designers and other engineers</li><li>Support budgets, schedules, and project tracking</li><li>For senior-level engineers: lead structural design, manage projects, and mentor junior staff</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What You’ll Bring</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering</li><li>3+ years of experience in structural design (preferably heavy industry)</li><li>Licensed PE in Virginia or the ability to obtain licensure</li><li>Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA, STAAD, RAM, SAP2000, etc.)</li><li>Experience with design tools such as RISA 3-D, Revit, AutoCAD, Mathcad, Excel, Hilti Profis, etc.</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Master’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering</li><li>Experience managing projects from estimation through completion</li><li>Knowledge of OSHA, masonry design, site civil design, and regulatory permitting</li><li>CAD drawing creation and familiarity with point clouds</li><li>Experience with dynamic, modal, and time history analysis</li><li>Ability to develop client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul><li>Health, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>401(k) & ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan)</li><li>Life insurance, short- & long-term disability</li><li>Paid sick leave, PTO, and holidays</li><li>Tuition reimbursement & professional development</li><li>Mentorship & wellness programs</li><li>Safety incentive program</li><li>24/7 Chaplain care and Employee Assistance Program</li><li>Compensation: $85,000 – $160,000 depending on experience.</li><li>Entry-level engineers without PE: starting around $85K</li><li>Engineers with PE and more experience: higher range up to $160K<br></li></ul>
