Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the role of Pharmacy Resident and Data Entry Specialist. As a Pharmacy Resident, you will have the opportunity to work in a community pharmacy setting, providing clinical, educational, and administrative support to patients and healthcare teams. Additionally, you will be responsible for remote data entry tasks, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our data management systems. Key Responsibilities
- Clinical: Participate in required rotations, including community, specialty, mobile, and medication safety, to achieve the objectives set out by the accreditation guidelines.
- Educational: Engage in teaching opportunities, including small group and large lecture settings, and act as an assistant preceptor for the community pharmacy practice laboratory.
- Administrative/Managerial: Develop your administrative role as a pharmacist, working closely with the pharmacy manager and other leaders to understand the intricacies of pharmacy operations.
- Leadership/Management: Participate in state and national pharmacy associations, attending meetings and contributing to regulatory projects to advance the practice of pharmacy.
- Data Entry: Perform remote data entry tasks, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our data management systems.
Objectives
The objectives of this role are to:
- Engage the resident in the clinical, educational, administrative, and leadership aspects of community pharmacy practice.
- Prepare the resident to assume clinical, educational, administrative, and leadership responsibilities within the community practice setting.
- Provide a framework for the resident to contribute to the development of pharmacy services within the community setting.
- Develop the resident's precepting and teaching skills.
- Contribute to quality improvement programs as appropriate.
- Successfully design and implement a longitudinal residency project, and present a manuscript for publication in a reputable pharmacy journal.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a school or college of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.
- Be eligible to obtain a pharmacist license within the state of residency within 90 days of the start of the residency program.
- Submit residency application materials to the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS).
- Participate in and comply with the rules of the ASHP Resident Matching Program.
- Be a certified immunizer or able to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
