Key Responsibilities

As an Hourly Care Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing personalized care and support to clients in their own homes, including assistance with personal care, continence management, and medication administration
  • Preparing healthy meals and performing light housework to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment
  • Accompanying clients to appointments and social outings, and supporting them to pursue their interests and hobbies
  • Offering specialized care for people living with conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, strokes, and other conditions, as well as end-of-life care
  • Maintaining accurate records of care and support provided, and communicating effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 6 months' professional care experience, preferably in a domiciliary care setting
  • Household management skills, including cleaning, hoovering, and keeping a home tidy
  • Ability to work effectively within allocated time, and prioritize tasks to meet client needs
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to attending work as scheduled
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • IT skills, including the ability to use a computer/laptop and online systems

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

We would also welcome applications from individuals with:

  • Care Certificate, Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience working with clients with specific needs, such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, or other conditions
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures, and infection control practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and families
