Remote Subject Matter Expert Criminal Justice and Criminology - Contemporary Issues in Police Management
About the position
Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Dean's office and course design team to facilitate timely course development.
• Design the course content for asynchronous online instruction, ensuring alignment with SHSU's mission and outcomes.
• Identify and curate course materials, utilizing open educational resources (OER) or other publicly accessible content.
• Collaborate with SHSU Online to develop media-rich lessons, including video lectures and visual teaching aids.
• Design and develop industry-related assessment tasks and relevant scenarios, including rubrics and connections to assessment activities.
• Provide the finalized course to the University according to the established timeline.
Requirements
• Master's degree in criminal justice, criminology, or a closely related field; Ph.D. preferred.
• Strong background in criminal justice and criminology with expertise in the specific course topic to be developed.
• Preferred teaching experience in an institution of higher education.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with Blackboard Learning Management System.
• Familiarity with U.S. copyright law.
