About the Role

The Director, Quantitative Reasoning Center/Evening Supplemental Instruction/Tutoring and Faculty will oversee the development and implementation of programs and services for the Quantitative Reasoning Center (QRC). You will work closely with the Deputy Head of Student Academic Services/Director of the Academic Success Center (ASC) to manage the QRC and ASC, fostering productive partnerships with faculty, staff, and administrators to maximize opportunities for students. This position requires a strong background in physics, mathematics, chemistry, or engineering, as well as excellent leadership and teaching skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the activities of the Quantitative Reasoning Center (QRC) and assist with the management of the Academic Success Center (ASC)
  • Oversee the development and implementation of programs and services for the QRC, ensuring effective daily operations
  • Establish and maintain productive partnerships with faculty, staff, and administrators to promote student success
  • Develop performance plans, facilitate professional development, and conduct evaluations for QRC personnel
  • Teach undergraduate courses in a relevant discipline, leveraging your academic credentials and experience
  • Participate in academic, military, airmanship, and athletic courses, as well as curriculum development and implementation
  • Promote professional activities in your area of specialization, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in physics, mathematics, chemistry, or engineering from an accredited institution
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance and complete a background investigation
  • Strong personal attributes, including integrity, industry, cooperation, initiative, and breadth of intellectual interests

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following preferred qualifications:

  • At least three years of teaching experience in higher education
  • Supervisory experience, preferably in a similar academic setting
  • One year of experience working in and/or directing a Quantitative Reasoning Center or similar academic support program
