Position Overview

As a 3rd shift remote worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' Linux and AWS server environments, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and developing preventative measures to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for customers via phone, ticketing system, or messenger, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical issues.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and resolve complex Linux and AWS server management issues, including DNS, networking, IP routing, and database management.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, team members, and management, to ensure seamless collaboration and issue resolution.
  • Develop and implement short-term resolutions and preventative measures to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Monitor server alerts for performance issues and address them promptly to prevent service disruptions.
  • Contribute to the development of internal documentation and customer-facing knowledge bases, sharing expertise and best practices with the team.
  • Assist in the onboarding, training, and mentoring of new team members, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant technologies, including Linux, AWS, and emerging trends in the IT industry, to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge support services.

Essential Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in customer service or technical support via phone or ticketing system, with a strong focus on Linux and AWS technologies.
  • Experience as a System Administrator or End User of a Linux Operating System, including Ubuntu, CentOS, and CloudLinux.
  • Managed Services Provider (MSP) experience is required, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by MSP environments.
  • Hands-on experience working with AWS services, including EC2, CloudWatch, and AutoScaling.
  • General understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and email protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, think critically, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced technical support environment.
  • Excellent communication, availability, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask, adapt to changes quickly, and prioritize work effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Linux support or a related field, with a strong track record of delivering exceptional customer service and technical support.
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux and AWS technologies, including scripting, automation, and security best practices.
  • Experience with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL, and a strong understanding of industry best practices for technical support and customer service.
  • Certifications in Linux, AWS, or related technologies, such as CompTIA Linux+ or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
