Role Snapshot:

• Start Date: Immediate openings available
• Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $13.85 to $18.35 per hour, based on certification level
• Location: West Campus, Tucson, AZ (with flexible scheduling, including evenings until 6:00 PM)
• Position: Tutor - Multiple Subjects (Temporary, Part-Time, up to 19.5 hours per week)
• Certification: College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) required within one year of employment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions, as well as embedded tutoring in classes, to support students in developing comprehension of subject coursework and improving study skills and habits
• Assist students with basic concepts, specific problems, homework, test preparation, and effective use of textbooks and instructional materials in virtual and in-person environments
• Offer students guidance on study skills and strategies to increase academic success and independence
• Provide encouragement and support to students in areas of self-confidence, study habits, and time management
• Report any problems or concerns with equipment or materials to the Learning Center Personnel
• Establish effective and cooperative relationships with diverse students and employees

Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Proven classroom excellence (grade A or B) in the subject(s) to be tutored
• Written Faculty recommendation for the subject(s) to be tutored OR vetting of content knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

• Tutoring experience
• Comfort tutoring multiple subjects

Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge of subject areas, including mathematics, physics, writing, statistics, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and nursing
• Ability to work effectively with diverse students and employees
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
