About the position
Responsibilities
• Coordinate a cross-functional staff and volunteer project team for global science meetings and events.
• Develop and manage project objectives, timelines, and budgets, identifying constraints and developing mitigation strategies.
• Manage and coordinate travel needs for American Heart Association volunteers and staff associated with meetings and events.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent communication of event needs.
• Communicate and manage relationships with external society stakeholders and vendors.
• Track progress and event outcomes for overall return on investment evaluation.
Requirements
• Seniors and graduate students pursuing a degree in marketing communications, international marketing communications, business analysis, international business, public health, or similar fields.
• Knowledge and experience with project management.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to create and enforce timelines.
• Highly motivated self-starter who is resourceful and can operate with limited management.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
• Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
