We're now looking for an experienced Middle Tier and Database Administrator to join our Oracle SaaS Operations Engineering US Government team. This role is a great opportunity for a self-motivated individual contributor and dynamic team player to work at the cutting edge of Oracle's Cloud technologies and deliver strategic technical support and solutions to many US Government agencies and US government contractors.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, designing, and implementing network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading-edge database/applications company. This will involve creating and implementing system enhancements to improve the performance and reliability of the system, managing load configurations, and making recommendations for the purchase or upgrade of data networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement network communications and solutions to improve system performance and reliability
  • Manage load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for data network upgrades or purchases
  • Coordinate terminal orders, cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing
  • Approve action requests and specify purchase requisitions
  • Negotiate and place orders with common carriers
  • Play a team leader role for developing System Administrators
  • Provide direction and mentoring to others as a leading contributor individually and as a team member
  • Engage in operational activities including monitoring, installation, patching, and upgrading Oracle Fusion applications/middleware and Oracle database implementations
  • Address extremely complex, critical customer system issues on a routine basis and document technical solutions

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Relevant industry experience of 3+ years
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems
  • Experience in at least one of the following:
    • Weblogic Application Server Installation and Administration
    • Oracle Fusion Middleware Installation and Administration
    • Oracle RDBMS Installation and Administration (including RAC databases)
    • Software Development
    • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix including commands and shell scripting
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C, C++, etc.)
  • Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills in middleware and/or database areas
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and with members of a global team without close supervision
  • US citizenship (by birth or naturalization) due to the requirement to support US government contractors
  • Willingness to undergo additional background checks and obtain government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Oracle Fusion Application Installation and Administration experience
  • SOA Suite administration (BPEL & WSM)
  • Knowledge of Oracle Internet Directory (OID) & IDM administration

The salary range for this role is from $85,800 to $178,200 per year, and you may be eligible for a bonus and equity.
