Job Summary

As a Retail Operations Manager Trainee and Coach, you will be responsible for leading and developing teams, driving financial performance and sales, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will work closely with store associates, provide feedback and guidance, and develop action plans to achieve business objectives. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset, including leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates
  • Provide feedback and guidance to store associates through touring stores and utilizing technology
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction
  • Introduce and lead company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates, following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved
  • Drive financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements, managing expenses, and developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications:

  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of associates, including store managers, department managers, and hourly associates
  • Basic knowledge of financial concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense management

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
  • Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including responsibility for performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing
