Key Responsibilities
As a Retail Operations Manager Trainee and Coach, you will be responsible for leading and developing high-performing teams, driving financial performance and sales growth, and providing exceptional customer service. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback
- Communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction
- Introducing and leading company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and communicating business objectives to teams effectively
- Modeling and demonstrating exceptional customer service standards to store associates, managing and supporting customer service initiatives, and ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved
- Driving financial performance and sales growth by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, and developing and implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved
- Providing supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing associate recognition, and communicating expectations consistently and effectively
- Coordinating, completing, and overseeing job-related activities and assignments, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, and identifying and communicating goals and objectives
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications:
- 2 years of college or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience, or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, drive financial performance and sales growth, and provide exceptional customer service
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of associates and stakeholders
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze sales and profit data, develop and implement action plans, and drive business results
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, or a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, with responsibility for performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing
- Experience working in a retail environment, with a strong understanding of store operations, merchandising, and customer service
