Job Overview: (USA) Coach/Ops Mgr Trainee

We are seeking an ambitious and talented individual to join our team as a (USA) Coach/Ops Mgr Trainee in Yorktown, VA. This role is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is passionate about leadership, customer service, and driving business results. As a Coach/Ops Mgr Trainee, you will be responsible for leading and developing high-performing teams, driving financial performance and sales growth, and ensuring exceptional customer service standards. You will be the catalyst for change, introducing and leading company initiatives, providing clear expectations and guidance, and communicating business objectives effectively to your team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, and by touring stores and providing feedback through our Tour-to-Teach program.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards, following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, and ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved.
  • Drive financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements, managing expenses, and developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and providing associate recognition.
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity, and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience; OR 2 years' general work experience and 1 year's supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including responsibility for performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
