Museum / Attraction Director (Dot Experience)
About the position
Responsibilities
• Guide The Dot Experience's long-term strategy in alignment with APH's mission, positioning it as a beacon of education, innovation, and inclusivity in the blindness and disability field.
• Activate The Dot Experience through storytelling, education, community engagement, and programming that fosters understanding of disability and inspires action.
• Ensure platforms, assets, and staff deliver creative, inclusive, and accessible experiences through training, performance management, and curatorial decisions.
• Serve as spokesperson and representative in professional, civic, and charitable activities, collaborating with APH's marketing/communications team to amplify initiatives across media and PR channels.
• Establish KPIs and assess effectiveness of programs, platforms, and engagement to demonstrate value and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage daily operations, budget, staffing, facilities, vendors, retail, and visitor services to ensure responsible financial stewardship and operational excellence.
• Additional Duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in education, humanities, arts administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in museum management or related profession on a similar scale.
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership, program activation, and business management.
• Experience collaborating with leadership, marketing, or communications teams strongly preferred.
• A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered when competency in the role is demonstrated.

• Experience with or advanced knowledge of creating and maintaining accessible spaces and experiences.
• Knowledge of motivating teams to embrace and act on a shared vision.
• Strong relationship-building skills across diverse groups.
• Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills.
