About the position Responsibilities • In collaboration with the radiation oncologist and medical physicist, use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop, generate, and evaluate treatment plans using computer software and manual calculations based on prescribed target region and avoidance dose criteria. • Generate radiation therapy treatment plans in a timely manner using computer software and various imaging modalities, demonstrating strong attention to detail. • Adapt to ever-changing technology and be open to learning new systems and techniques. • Perform routine duties independent of supervision but consult with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required. • Consult and communicate with the therapists regarding the implementation of the treatment plan including: the correct use of immobilization devices, field arrangement, and other treatment variables. • Perform or supervise the design and fabrication of immobilization devices, beam modifying devices (i.e., compensating filters, bolus, molds, custom shields, etc.) and treatment planning aids. Requirements • Credentials as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) preferred. • Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board eligible. • Two years of experience with Eclipse TPS preferred. • Two years of experience preferred although new graduates will be considered. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Proficient in planning VMAT, IMRT, SBRT, and 3D plans. • Prior work in a Varian linear accelerator environment a plus.
