Job Summary

The Data Analyst and Reporting Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the creation and maintenance of reports, providing departmental insights on performance, and building data models to solve various quantitative projects. You will work closely with our technology team on business needs and data warehouse services to meet departmental demands. Your expertise in data analysis, reporting, and visualization will be essential in driving business outcomes and informing strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement new reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support business processes and data-driven decision-making using Power BI and Excel.
  • Establish and maintain robust Data Quality standards and controls to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Develop and manage new data pipelines from source systems to the Data Warehouse, ensuring seamless data flow and integration.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Management and Business Analysts, to identify business requirements, maintain comprehensive documentation, and obtain service sign-offs for all reporting needs.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable reporting pipelines and data models to support business growth and evolving needs.
  • Apply data storytelling principles to create clear and impactful data visualizations using Power BI, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions.
  • Assist in automating existing business processes and enhancing exception-based reporting to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Work with IT and Business Analysts to investigate, research, and acquire new data variables, exploring new opportunities for data-driven insights.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify meaningful patterns and trends, providing actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Validate data for accuracy by verifying against established standards and resolving discrepancies.
  • Participate in the Data Governance program by updating the data dictionary and policies & procedures, ensuring data quality and compliance.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in in-depth data analysis, preferably in a business intelligence or reporting capacity.
  • Strong proficiency in working with Power BI, including experience with dimensions, measures, filters, calculated columns, and DAX queries.
  • Knowledge of SQL, M Code, and data modeling concepts, including star schema and other methodologies.
  • Experience with ETL tools, such as SSIS, Power BI Dataflows, or other Big Data integrations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets and identify meaningful patterns and trends.
  • Familiarity with SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), Power BI, and Power Query.
  • Experience with Smartsheets or similar project management tools.
  • Strong work ethic, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
