Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Crisis Specialist to join our 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team. As a Crisis Specialist, you will provide brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. You will handle incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988, and provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments. This is a remote position, and you will work from home, providing support to individuals in crisis.
Responsibilities
- Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments for individuals experiencing emotional distress
- Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to meet individual needs
- Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
- Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
- Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
- Assist in administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required; or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
- Six months to one year of related crisis experience required
- Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods
- Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette
- Knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources
- Knowledge of suicide assessments
- Skill in providing crisis intervention
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a crisis support or mental health setting
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques
- Certification in crisis intervention or a related field

Compensation
Pay range: $19.10 - $26.80 per hour
