[Remote] Senior Application Developer | Healthcare

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dahl Consulting is partnering with a leading health insurance company to find a Senior Application Developer. This role will design, develop, and support applications that drive critical enrollment operations, ensuring accurate and timely member data processing across multiple systems. Responsibilities • Manage and support HIPAA standard EDI 834 enrollment transactions, including membership loads, changes, terminations, and reinstatements. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure enrollment data aligns with Healthcare.gov batch auto-enrollments (~20K members) and supports tracking for upcoming 2026 plan years. • Work with multiple data sources and formats (X12, XML, API integrations) to ensure seamless data exchange and compliance with regulatory standards. • Leverage EDIFECS tools for configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of enrollment transactions. • Analyze and resolve complex issues related to delinquency and grace period processes, requiring deep domain knowledge of healthcare enrollment. • Use SQL for data validation, reporting, and troubleshooting discrepancies across integrated systems. • Partner with cross-functional business units and participate in JIRA-based ticket review and resolution. • Collaborate with the Technology Services Director and Network Engineering Manager to align application development initiatives with strategic IT goals. • Interact with and supervise contractors and/or vendors hired for application development or implementation. • Design, code, test, and implement Internet and Intranet applications, adhering to established development methodologies and best practices. • Maintain comprehensive application documentation, including technical notes, configuration details, and code annotations. • Provide post-implementation support, ensuring stability and performance of applications within the Information Technology Center ecosystem. • Assist with preparation of annual operating and capital budgets for the IT department. • Proactively communicate infrastructure or application changes to affected stakeholders. Skills • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Hands-on experience in HIPAA standard EDI 834 enrollment transactions • 3+ years of experience in application development, data integration, or healthcare EDI processing • Strong hands-on experience with HIPAA 834 transactions and related tools • Working knowledge of SQL, X12, and XML data structures • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact across technical and business teams • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, coordinating workflows for efficiency and quality outcomes • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities • EDIFECS tools for configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of enrollment transactions • Understanding of HealthRules Payor or similar healthcare administration systems Education Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field Benefits • Comprehensive benefits package Company Overview • Welcome to Jobs via Dice, the go-to destination for discovering the tech jobs you want.
