About the Role

As a Proposal Writer at Virta Health, you will play a critical role in driving business success by crafting persuasive RFP and RFI responses and managing the end-to-end proposal creation process. Collaborating closely with our sales, marketing, and internal executive stakeholders, you will develop and maintain a library of proposal responses that resonate with our healthcare audiences, including health plans and employers. Your work will not only showcase Virta's unique value proposition but also contribute to scaling best practices and influencing our broader enterprise marketing approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, coordinate, write, and produce high-quality responses to RFPs that clearly address the buyer's needs and showcase Virta's innovative solutions.
  • Lead the management and prioritization of proposals to ensure timely completion, while continuously adapting processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Own and develop the RFP library, creating clear, concise, and differentiated client-facing messaging and positioning that highlights Virta's value proposition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, clinical, and product, to craft effective messages that evolve with our products and market needs.
  • Partner with internal teams to measure the impact of proposals on Virta's sales bookings and revenue, using data to inform future proposal strategies.
  • Support Product Marketing initiatives, such as developing sales content, conducting market research, and enabling commercial teams on new positioning and metrics.

90-Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta Health, you will:

  • Immerse yourself in Virta's products, services, and go-to-market strategy to gain a deep understanding of our innovative solutions.
  • Build relationships with our commercial team and internal subject matter experts to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Take ownership of Virta's RFP and RFI process, including proposal intake, prioritization, deadline management, and RFP library maintenance.
  • Begin supporting proposal deals in partnership with our Sales Directors, applying your skills and expertise to drive business growth.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 4-6 years of experience in enterprise content creation, proposal writing, or a related field, with a strong portfolio of work that demonstrates your writing and project management skills.
  • Healthcare experience is preferred but not required; however, a willingness to learn and adapt to the healthcare industry is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills that enable you to craft compelling proposals and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines, prioritize multiple projects, and manage competing demands in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment, with the ability to self-manage and work independently.
  • Familiarity with proposal management software and tools, such as RFP automation platforms or content management systems.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry, including trends, challenges, and innovations that are shaping the market.
  • Certifications or training in proposal writing, content creation, or a related field, such as the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) or the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification.
