Job Overview

We're seeking an experienced Healthcare Patient Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional support to patients, addressing their concerns, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. This is a remote opportunity, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home, Monday through Friday, with no weekends required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and research balances, providing clear and concise explanations.
  • Manage patient refunds, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Process patient payments, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effectively communicate with patients via phone and in writing, addressing their concerns and resolving issues.
  • Demonstrate extensive attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills, ensuring seamless customer service experiences.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in medical billing and collections, with a strong understanding of commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare reimbursement.
  • Current knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement processes, including EOBs and patient billing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • A strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive and professional demeanor, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service experiences.
  • Self-motivation and a team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications can enhance your candidacy:

  • Additional experience in healthcare customer service or a related field.
  • Knowledge of RCM processes and industry trends.
  • Proficiency in customer service software and technology.
  • Certifications in medical billing or a related field, such as CPC or CMRS.
