Graphic Designer Summer Associate Internship

Support design, production, and branding efforts for marketing and corporate communications as a Marketing Design Summer Associate at Navy Federal. Your Role Key responsibilities include: • Develop and execute designs, layouts, and visual branding in print and digital media supporting products, services, and objectives • Participate in strategic and conceptual development meetings with clients to determine project requirements and creative direction • Create print, video, web graphics, photography, logos, and illustrations to support marketing initiatives • Conduct research and develop persuasive design ideas addressing customer needs and credit union goals • Ideate concepts, create initial sketches, and follow art direction using typography, illustration, animation, video, and layout skills • Monitor projects to ensure goals and objectives are met on schedule and collaborate with project teams • Maintain design consistency, version control, and content management systems • Incorporate best industry practices aligned with Navy Federal goals and capabilities • Research emerging technologies, trends, and methodologies and recommend aligned solutions • Support print specifications, digital file preparation, and file format conversions for Print OnDemand and laser forms About You The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications: • Currently pursuing a degree in graphic design or a related field with anticipated graduation December 2026 or later • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment • Experience using design programs and creating print and online collateral • Working knowledge of design principles, development standards, techniques, methodologies, and fundamentals • Familiarity with interactive and visual design, industry standards, and new programs/technologies including social media trends • Experience creating assets for social media platforms • Knowledge of video and animation production as well as print production • Ability to tell stories through film and photography applying typography, layout, and color • Conceptual thinking and visualization of strategic decisions • Strong initiative, good judgment, professionalism, composure under pressure, and flexibility • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback to improve designs • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, or Premiere Pro Compensation & Benefits • Hourly wage range: $26.44 - $46.88 • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance • Free and confidential mental health support through Employee Assistance Program (EAP) • Generous paid time off including holidays, vacation, sick leave, parental/adoption leave, volunteer leave, personal days, and military leave • 401(k) savings match and pension plan • Financial assistance for education, loan discounts, free Navy Federal membership, and financial advising services • Educational assistance with reimbursement for courses, classes, and certifications • 24/7 telemedicine access to board-certified physicians, counselors, and nutritionists • On-site wellness centers offering physicals, sick visits, lab work, physical therapy, condition management, and wellness coaching • Performance incentive program and recognition awards • Leadership development initiatives and experiential learning opportunities • Family-building benefits including adoption, surrogacy, infertility assistance, pregnancy, and lactation support • On-site fitness centers and free virtual fitness classes with reimbursement options • Volunteer opportunities and community engagement events • Employee recognition platform and service anniversary celebrations • Company events such as annual gala, Take Your Child to Work Day, family picnics, and holiday parties Training & Development Ample opportunities to expand knowledge and skills through formal education, training, certificate programs, leadership development initiatives, and experiential learning.
