Junior Salesforce Administrator
Job Description Summary The Junior Salesforce Administrator will work alongside a more senior administrator, contributing to ongoing platform improvements and supporting organization-wide adoption of Salesforce. This role is ideal for someone with solid Salesforce experience who enjoys hands-on system work, training others, and learning from a technical lead. The Senior Admin will own broader platform strategy, integrations, and high-level architecture; you’ll focus on execution, documentation, and continuous optimization. The Patterson Family Foundation utilizes Salesforce as its central platform for grantmaking operations. We’re seeking a Certified Salesforce Administrator with 2 + years of experience to support, configure, and enhance our Salesforce environment. This position reports to a Senior Salesforce Administrator and focuses on day-to-day system administration, user support, documentation, and iterative improvements—playing a key role in translating end-user needs into effective, scalable solutions. Job Description Essential Functions Configure and maintain Salesforce features such as custom objects, page layouts, flows, automations, and permission sets Collaborate with end users to gather business needs, develop user stories, and translate them into technical solutions Support user acceptance testing (UAT) processes and create related documentation Develop training materials—including SOPs, how-to guides, and video-based trainings—to support user onboarding and ongoing learning Provide user support and troubleshooting; help staff adopt and utilize Salesforce tools effectively Maintain data accuracy through imports, exports, deduplication, and regular QA; Use tools like Data Loader, Workbench, or SOQL. Use Excel to manipulate data as needed for routine data imports and exports via Data Loader Ability to debug basic Flows Assist with off-hours system needs when required Assist in managing integrations with platforms used for events, data collection, telephony, and client engagement Create and maintain reports and dashboards that support team insights and decision-making Manage user profiles, roles, and permissions in line with privacy and security standards Stay informed on Salesforce nonprofit solutions (NPSP, Outbound Funds, Grants Management) and propose enhancements Document system changes, testing notes, and process improvements; contribute to platform governance and roadmap execution Support end-to-end grant lifecycle processes via the Outbound Funds Module: from application intake and review to disbursements and deliverable tracking. Collaborate closely with Program Officers to operationalize Funding Programs and application flows in Salesforce. Assist with application review cycles using the Review object and support automations tied to Funding Request statuses. Assist in managing and embedding forms (via FormAssembly) and signatures (via DocuSign) into our workflows. Help maintain our Experience Cloud-based grantee portal, supporting access and visibility rules as grantees progress through stages. Leverage documentation standards, naming conventions, and SOPs created to ensure quality and consistency. Be comfortable with new challenges, taking part in developing innovative solutions with limited resources or established protocols. Translate fluid user needs and project scopes into actionable Salesforce configurations and manage expectations effectively. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years of experience with Salesforce, including at least 2 years as a Certified Administrator Familiarity with Agile or Salesforce Adaptive Delivery methodologies Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience Must be located in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Preferred Skills Hands-on experience in a nonprofit, grantmaking, or mission-driven organization Experience with DocuSign/Salesforce integrations Skills in Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for data visualization and reporting Ability to provide basic IT triage support (e.g., Microsoft Office, Teams, printers) Exposure to or willing to learn our tech stack FormAssembly, DocuSign Gen for Salesforce, Gearset, Tableau, Experience Cloud, Druva Experience with Service Cloud Email-to-Case or case queues.
