About the Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Production Trainer to join our team at ORBIS Corporation. As a Production Trainer, you'll play a critical role in supporting our production team and ensuring a safe and productive work environment. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement training programs that help new hires become successful long-term ORBIS employees. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety, operations, and housekeeping standards in the production area
  • Develop a schedule to assess training needs and identify areas for improvement
  • Conduct employee surveys and interviews to gather feedback and insights
  • Consult with other managers and leadership on basic training topics and needs
  • Track and compile collected data to inform training strategies and initiatives
  • Conceptualize training materials based on data and research
  • Communicate training needs and online resources to employees
  • Create training strategies, initiatives, and materials to support employee development
  • Contact and utilize outside vendors and resources for instructional technology
  • Test and review created materials to ensure effectiveness
  • Maintain a database of all training materials
  • Instruct employee training and production activities
  • Conduct training through new materials and review employee performance and learning during training
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including working in production when the need arises
  • Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement and promote and sustain CI, 5S, and STW activities

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in a trainer role or as a production operator with similar responsibilities
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and safety procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with instructional technology and training platforms
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely (preferred but not required)

Preferred Qualifications

We're looking for candidates with:

  • Relationship development and communication skills
  • Dependable, self-starter with a good attendance record
  • Ability to coach, train, and acknowledge positive and developmental opportunities
  • Basic knowledge of LEAN tools (5S, 1 piece flow, JIT, STW, Kanban, waste removal, continuous improvement)
  • Ability to use power tools, hand tools, hot stamp press, lift assist, ergo lift, welder, and banders
  • Bilingual – Spanish (desired but not required)
