About the Role
We're seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our remote call center team, dedicated to serving Maryland residents seeking health insurance coverage. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, addressing their inquiries, and providing personalized assistance to ensure they receive the best possible solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Answer inbound phone calls from customers, providing information and assistance regarding health care insurance options, and helping them navigate the enrollment process.
• Update customer and account information as needed, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain detailed case records, notating the purpose of each call and any subsequent actions.
• Utilize multiple database applications to access relevant information, resolve customer inquiries, and provide solutions.
• Respond to general customer inquiries, addressing concerns and providing timely resolutions.
• Strive to meet performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement and professional growth opportunities.
• Remain open to feedback, using it as a catalyst for growth and development.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• A high school diploma or equivalent; college attendance or degree is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of call center experience, preferably in a healthcare-related environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Proficiency in computer applications, with the ability to learn and understand health insurance policy and terminology.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and interact effectively with customers and coworkers.
• The capacity to problem-solve, prioritize, and multi-task, utilizing multiple computer applications while interacting with customers.
• Flexibility, reliability, and availability for occasional overtime as needed.
• The ability to pass required skill and knowledge assessment tests.
• A commitment to completing 3 weeks of class training and 4 weeks of supervised call taking (nesting) without missing any time.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications can enhance your candidacy:
• Previous experience in the healthcare industry, with knowledge of health insurance coverage and terminology.
• A proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service in a high-volume call center environment.
• Familiarity with database applications and CRM software.
