About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Special Education Substitute Teacher to join our team in Denver, CO. As a Special Education Substitute Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities
- Follow and teach lesson plans provided by the regular teacher
- Instruct based on subject and grade-specific curriculum
- Monitor and assess student achievements and outcomes
- Exercise classroom and behavior management skills
- Share your specialized knowledge to coach staff and support special education students
Essential Qualifications
- Active Teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s)
- Substitute Authorization (must have or be in the process of obtaining if license is expired)
- Three References with one by a previous direct supervisor
- Complete a Background Check for Scoot Education (you'll be reimbursed for the cost on your first paycheck!)
- Complete a Background Check for the Colorado Department of Education (to receive your Substitute Authorization; you will not be reimbursed for the cost)

- Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
