Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to our customers, responding to their inquiries, resolving issues, and promoting our products and services to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
- Transaction Processing: Process transactions, including cash sales, credit card payments, and returns or exchanges, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Store Operations: Support store operations, including stocking and presenting products, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Animal Care: Provide care and attention to animals in our store, including birds, reptiles, and fish, to ensure their health and well-being.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and store leadership to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer service.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Loss Prevention: Comply with loss prevention procedures to prevent theft and ensure the security of our store and its assets.
- Housekeeping: Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
- Opening and Closing Procedures: Assist with opening and closing procedures, including ensuring that all paperwork is correctly filled out and that the store is secure and ready for the next day.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives, as assigned by store leadership, to drive sales, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance store operations.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role.
- Customer Service Experience: Previous customer service experience, preferably in a retail or animal-related environment, is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as you'll be interacting with customers, colleagues, and store leadership on a regular basis.
- Attention to Detail: You'll need to be detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records and processes to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer service.

- Availability: You'll need to be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of our customers and store operations.
