About the Role: Join the Uwill Team as a Part Time, Remote Teletherapy Counselor
Uwill is seeking experienced and compassionate teletherapy counselors to join our team as part-time, remote counselors. As a Uwill Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting student mental health by offering teletherapy sessions via video, phone, or chat message to students at our partner institutions. This is a 1099 independent contractor role with flexible scheduling, allowing you to choose your own hours and work from any quiet, professional location in the US where you can maintain privacy and HIPAA compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage an ongoing caseload of clients from initial session to graduation from care.
- Conduct video, telephone, or chat sessions with students, utilizing evidence-based practices and SMART goals tailored to student needs.
- Practice culturally competent care to meet the needs of a diverse client base, including but not limited to: first-time therapy seekers, BIPOC students, LGBTQ+ students, first-generation students, veterans, and athletes.
- Adhere to the risk assessment and management process of Uwill, including assessing for risk during the initial session with a student and as needed thereafter.
- Complete session notes within time frame expectations.
- Respond to student messages in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- 2 years of experience providing therapy in a telehealth setting using a variety of modalities.
- An independent license to practice mental health therapy without supervision (e.g., LPC/LMHC, LCSW/LICSW, LMFT, or PsyD).
- Professional liability insurance.
- HIPAA compliant professional and secure location to perform sessions.
- Ability to provide sessions via Zoom on a computer or device with a camera and microphone.
Special Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical-thinking skills, and use of sound judgment.
- Proven ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of people of various ages and backgrounds, student developmental needs, nationality, culture, faith/religion, language difference, ability differences, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
- Possess the ability to work with a wide range of individuals presenting mental health concerns across broad levels of acuity, including first-time therapy seekers.
- Ability to assess risk and refer to Uwill's Clinical Support team as needed.
- Ability to respond with empathy, professionalism, and meet students where they are.
