Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Energy Division team, working remotely with a focus on the Northeast United States. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing complex projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and team members. Your expertise in Cultural Resource Management (CRM) and understanding of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act will be essential in navigating the regulatory landscape and driving project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of contact for clients, addressing any issues associated with project delivery
  • Prepare project proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules, ensuring alignment with client expectations and contract requirements
  • Understand and negotiate contract terms with clients, in conjunction with the SEARCH Contracts Manager, to ensure successful project delivery
  • Deliver projects on-time, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations, managing project scope, schedule, budget, and change management
  • Baseline and manage project scope, schedule, and budget, clearly communicating project responsibilities and task assignments to the team
  • Conduct change management, identifying and addressing changes, and developing and executing change orders
  • Coordinate with SEARCH accounting, logistics, and management to ensure proper project setup, invoicing, and resource allocation
  • Manage research, fieldwork, data analysis, report preparation, and other tasks to ensure project goals, budgets, schedules, and contract requirements are met
  • Ensure high-quality project delivery, maintaining strong professional standards, and developing and managing agency and client relationships
  • Train and mentor staff, communicating project developments to the project team, company leadership, and clients
  • Maintain a wide network of professionals, subcontractors, vendors, and researchers, leveraging these relationships to secure additional project work for SEARCH

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in a STEM field, Anthropology, Archaeology, Maritime Archaeology, or related fields
  • 7 years of relevant experience, with 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Understanding of the Cultural Resource Management (CRM) industry, including firms, clients, contracts, new research, and projects
  • Knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, with familiarity with NEPA and environmental permitting a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage projects in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Strong leadership skills, building a healthy team culture and maintaining strong project team relationships

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation professional qualifications standards
  • Graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field
  • New England and New York archaeology experience, with a deep understanding of the regional regulatory landscape
