Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Virtual Special Education Teachers to deliver engaging online instruction to K-12 students with special needs. Key Responsibilities

• Provide engaging online instruction specifically designed for students with special needs. Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the unique learning requirements of each student, ensuring that they receive a high-quality education that prepares them for success.
• Collaborate effectively with families, educational staff, and fellow educators to formulate and oversee Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Work closely with families and educational teams to develop and implement IEPs that meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring that they receive the support and resources necessary to succeed.
• Adjust lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet a variety of learning requirements. Be flexible and adaptable in your teaching approach, adjusting lesson plans and teaching strategies as needed to ensure that each student receives a high-quality education.
• Evaluate and track student progress, implementing necessary modifications to ensure academic success. Regularly assess student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and implementing modifications to ensure that each student receives the support and resources necessary to succeed.
• Offer virtual support and guidance to families and educational teams. Provide ongoing support and guidance to families and educational teams, ensuring that they have the resources and information necessary to support the academic success of each student.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in developing and managing IEPs. Have experience developing and managing IEPs, ensuring that each student receives a high-quality education that meets their individual needs.
• Expertise in addressing the unique needs of students with special education requirements. Possess a deep understanding of the unique needs of students with special education requirements, and be able to develop and implement strategies to support their academic success.
• Preferred experience within virtual teaching environments. Have experience teaching in virtual environments, and be familiar with the unique challenges and opportunities that come with online instruction.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills. Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, and be able to work effectively with families, educational staff, and fellow educators to support the academic success of each student.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education. Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, and be certified to teach in Illinois.
• Valid Special Education teaching license in Illinois. Hold a valid Special Education teaching license in Illinois, and be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique needs of students with special education requirements.
