Key Responsibilities
As a Retail Customer Service Associate at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional customer service, utilizing consultative skills to understand each customer's individualized needs
- Assisting customers with printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines, and recommending appropriate blithequark products and services
- Taking complex customer orders using order systems and providing accurate pricing information
- Assembling parcels and preparing goods for shipping, including wrapping items in insulation, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels
- Setting up and operating printing, binding, and other related equipment using customer-supplied original media and documents
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly retail store environment
- Processing financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash and making change
- Cleaning, repairing, and stocking all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to provide optimal performance and availability
- Staying current on retail store merchandising materials and ensuring proper display of all retail area product and signage
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent education
- 6+ months of specialized experience in a customer-facing role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods
- The ability to move and lift 55 pounds
- The ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees
- The ability, on a consistent basis, to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
- The ability, on a consistent basis, to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
- The ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience in a retail environment
- Knowledge of printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines
- Experience with Point of Sale terminals (POS) and financial transactions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
