About the Role
As a Customer Service Representative (Student Loan Advisor) at blithequark, you will play a vital role in supporting student borrowers by answering their questions, providing detailed information, processing applications, and resolving any emerging problems they may face. You will be the primary point of contact for our customers, and your excellent communication skills, empathy, and problem-solving abilities will be essential in delivering exceptional customer service. This is an in-center position with the possibility of working from home after 90 days, provided you meet the required performance, attendance, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take incoming calls, use chat, and complete outbound calls as necessary to assist customers with their inquiries and concerns
- Utilize standard technology such as a telephone, email, and web browser to navigate to pre-scripted responses and provide accurate and efficient support
- Follow established policies and standard operating procedures, including working within various systems, timekeeping, documentation, and adhering to ethics and privacy rules
- Assist callers with filling out their applications and submitting them electronically for processing
- Complete basic call logs, documentation, and related call details for each phone inquiry
- Practice active listening, be empathetic, and communicate clearly with customers in a positive and professional manner
Schedule and Work Environment
The schedule for this role is as follows:
- Monday: 11:45am-8:15pm
- Tuesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
- Wednesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
- Thursday: 8:45am-5:15pm
- Friday: 8:45am-5:15pm
Please note that you may be required to work holidays, and overtime may be necessary.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to speak and read English clearly, professionally, and fluently
- Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute
- Experience working with a personal computer and the Windows operating system
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized while completing simultaneous tasks
- Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Excel and Word
- Excellent command of the English language and effective use of grammar skills
- Excellent communication etiquette
