Job Summary

As a Data Entry and Claims Specialist at blithequark, you will play a critical role in supporting our claims processing operations. You will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing claims, maintaining member records, and providing exceptional customer service. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in delivering high-quality results and meeting our departmental quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver routine work independently, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, in a timely manner and meet deadlines appropriately.
  • Determine eligibility and confirm effective dates for benefit elections based on contractual guidelines.
  • Leverage critical thinking and problem-solving skills to create and modify member level records across multiple products, applications, and platforms.
  • Maintain accurate member records by verifying dates, names, salary figures, and other information provided by groups.
  • Apply policy provisions for effective dates, evidence of insurability, and other pertinent information to determine necessary changes.
  • Consider the customer experience in all actions and demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in system work independently.
  • Make routine and non-routine decisions, applying limited but increasingly more discretion within the role, except for matters of significance that affect the business as a whole or a significant part of it.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School or GED (Minimum Required)
  • No prior experience required, but previous experience in data entry or claims processing is an asset.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work, accuracy, and attention to detail without loss to productivity.
  • Ability to perform under stress in cases of emergency, critical, or hazardous situations.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment and demonstrate interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in data entry, claims processing, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of claims processing software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
