Job Overview

As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and support to ensure their needs are met. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist all internal and external customers in a professional manner, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times, even in challenging situations.
  • Receive requests from multiple sources (phone, fax, e-Commerce, in-person) and complete the necessary processes for equipment services.
  • Coordinate home equipment service requests with Dispatch for prompt delivery, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up.
  • Engage in active listening with customers, confirming or clarifying information and diffusing angry customers, as needed.
  • Provide customers with product and service information, ensuring they have the knowledge they need to make informed decisions.
  • Maintain current knowledge on Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment, staying up-to-date on industry developments and changes.
  • Verify medical necessity, insurance coverage, and physician orders for all insurance-assigned services, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Follow policy and work instructions to ensure the Billing Department has the correct paperwork to complete insurance, maintaining efficient and effective processes.
  • Understand and strive to meet or exceed department metrics while providing excellent customer service, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Make sales or recommendations for products or services that may complement client needs, as applicable, identifying opportunities to add value and drive growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and needs.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable you to provide exceptional customer service and support. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with a strong foundation in communication and customer service principles.
  • 6 months of relevant customer service experience preferred, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and resolving complex issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Customer service orientation, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service and support to internal and external customers.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to accurately process requests, verify information, and maintain accurate records.
  • Good data entry skills, with the ability to efficiently and accurately enter information into our systems and databases.
  • Proficiency with computers, with strong typing skills and the ability to navigate multiple software applications and systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple requests, and maintain a high level of productivity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a call center or customer service environment, with a strong understanding of industry principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective manner.
  • Experience working with customers who have complex needs or requirements, with the ability to empathize and provide personalized support.
  • Strong sales or upselling skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive growth through effective communication and relationship-building.
